JOB SUMMARY

The Day Support Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Day Support Program. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for participants. The Team Lead works closely with families, staff, and external partners to develop and implement individualized service plans (ISPs), coordinate meaningful activities, and uphold the highest standards of care and program delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), including supervisory experience.
  • Certifications: CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration Training (MAT), and other staterequired certifications.

SKILLS:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Knowledge of disability services regulations and best practices.
  • Proficiency in documentation and recordkeeping.

Responsibilities
  1. Supervision and Leadership
  • Supervise, train, and mentor Day Support staff, including Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
  • Provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
  • Ensure adequate staff coverage and manage staff schedules.
  1. Program Management
  • Coordinate and oversee daily participant activities, ensuring they are personcentered and aligned with ISPs.
  • Monitor program effectiveness, recommending and implementing improvements.

Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal requirements.
3. Participant Support

Collaborate with participants, families, and professionals to develop and implement ISPs.

  • Provide direct support as needed to ensure health, safety, and wellbeing.
  • Promote social, emotional, and developmental growth through inclusive and supportive practices.
  1. Compliance and Safety
  • Ensure full compliance with agency policies, state licensing requirements, and funding regulations.
  • Conduct safety checks and maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.

Respond to emergencies and incidents according to established protocols.

  1. Communication and Collaboration
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with participants, families, staff, and community partners.
  • Participate in team meetings and coordinate services with other professionals.

Prepare and present reports on program outcomes, participant progress, and staffing updates.

  • Stay current on best practices in disability services and day support programming.

Engage in professional development and training opportunities.

  • Lead and support quality improvement initiatives to strengthen program effectiveness.
