Team Leader – Afternoon Shift We’re looking for a people-focused Team Leader to lead a team of ~10-14 Production or Packing Operators on our afternoon shift. There are 2 positions available, one in our Packing Operation and one in our Production/Manufacturing Operation. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves building team capability, creating strong engagement, and driving high standards in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. If you know how to motivate people, keep operations running smoothly, and create a culture where safety, food quality, and continuous improvement come first, we’d love to hear from you. What you’ll be doing Lead, coach and support a team of ~10-14 Production or Packing Operators on the afternoon shift to achieve daily production goals. Create a positive, engaged and high-performing team culture where people feel supported, accountable and motivated to do their best work. Ensure all work is carried out safely in a high-risk manufacturing environment with fork hoists, heavy machinery and food safety controls. Build team capability through on-the-job coaching, training, clear expectations and regular feedback. Monitor production performance, downtime, waste and quality, and take action to keep the shift on track. Work closely with QA, Engineering, Health & Safety and other teams to ensure smooth operations and compliance with standards. Investigate issues, support root cause analysis and help drive practical, sustainable improvements. Maintain accurate production records, shift reporting and communication with the Shift Manager. Step up to support shift leadership when required. What we’re looking for Previous experience in a manufacturing, production or FMCG environment. Proven ability to lead, motivate and engage frontline teams. Strong commitment to health, safety and wellbeing, with confidence working in a high-risk environment. Good understanding of food safety, quality standards and manufacturing discipline. Experience coaching, training and developing others to lift capability and performance. A proactive approach to problem solving, continuous improvement and getting the best from people and processes. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across operations, QA, Engineering and support teams. Confidence using production records, reporting tools and basic performance data. A positive, resilient and hands-on leadership style with a genuine care for people. Why join Walter & Wild?
