Description
Description Responsibility & Authority: The Team Lead/Forklift Operator is responsible for participating in and leading and executing day-to-day warehouse activities. The Lead is also responsible for operating a forklift and for meeting production goals, setting a positive example for team members at all times and for training and certifying new inspectors, forklift operators, and other team members as assigned on the correct processes and work instructions and for understanding and teaching according to Bluegrass’ mission, vision and value standards. The Lead is responsible for ensuring that adequate tools and supplies are on hand and assists the supervisor in monitoring time and attendance. The Lead also works with the supervisor also continually develop, mentor, and build meaningful relationships with team members, working to providing positive and corrective feedback where appropriate. The Lead maintains 5S at all times and works with the Supervisor to hold each team member accountable for favorable or unfavorable performance. Minimum Position Requirements (Skills & Abilities): This is a working lead position--must have at least 1 year of leadership experience in a Warehouse/Production capacity. Excellent interpersonal/communication skills. Minimum 2 years experience operating sit down forklifts, preferable finger control type. Position involves the safe handling of multiple pallets of various materials, quality assurance, loading/unloading trucks. Must have valid Driver's License--cannot be expired or suspended. Must be familiar with data entry, particularly inventory management software. Comfortable with computers and RF scanners. WMS knowledge – know how to use a RF scanner, print BOL’s, pull orders out of a WMS system. Responsible for conducting forklift observations as well as the training and development of team members. Ensure that all areas of compliance are dutifully met and that safety practices are properly adhered to. Ability to fully utilize the Warehouse Management System(WMS). Tools and/or Equipment Used: Electric, standard forklifts with finger control panels. RF scanners Computers -WMS
