PRIMARY DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Supervise admin staff on a day to day basis, ensuring effective admin and clerical procedures are carried out in relation to patient appointments Responsible for getting requests vetted and making sure appointments are booked with the correct time frame. Liaison with patients is a key part of this role as is liaising with the Principal Superintendents for diary management. To implement induction and training programmes for new admin staff in relation to administrative practice and protocols, ensuring all training is recorded. To monitor and record all mandatory training for admin staff.
Carry out appraisals in conjunction with the relevant objectives and KSF documentation and produce and monitor personal development plans for admin staff. To play an active role in the effective recruitment, and selection of admin and clerical staff within the Directorate. Identifying any issues and reporting them to the Administration Manager SYSTEMS/ACTIVITY To understand the Trust Patient Administration System and all the Imaging Information Systems (CRIS and PACS) and to be able to react to workloads using statistical information produced by the Imaging Information systems. Supervise and participate in when necessary, the process for radiographic examinations which require reporting.
To monitor the waiting lists and ensure protocols are followed and deadlines are met to achieve the waiting time targets. Address any waiting list issues or alerting the relevant managers to any potential breaches in targets.. Contributes to devising new and reviewing existing Patient Administration Protocols in line with any changes in waiting times or relevant legislation Participate in investigation of patient complaints, feeding back where relevant, to the admin staff. To participate in clinical governance activities as appropriate.
Ability to liaise and communicate with patients in a sensate manner, giving out information about diagnostic investigations and any necessary preparation advice Responsible for uploading rotas and work schedules into the radiology patient information system. Monitor diaries and utilisation of work lists
