Overview
Gateworth are currently supporting an international law firm in their search for a Team Leader, Operations & Support to lead, manage and develop their legal operations team across multiple Middle East offices. This role will oversee a team of direct reports and calls for a strategic, outcome-driven mindset to ensure efficient practice management, a seamless business support service working within a fun, dynamic and busy environment. Responsibilities
- Leading, training and mentoring a team of Team Assistants and Executives, fostering independent decision-making and outcome ownership rather than escalation by default.
- Able to identify and implement firm initiatives to enhance best practices and support a team working environment.
- Managing the resource planning, work allocation and cover for holiday/sickness, and conducting performance reviews, salary reviews and one-to-ones, delivering direct and constructive feedback.
- Driving process improvement and change initiatives in collaboration with senior leadership, including workflow design, updates and firm-wide programs.
- Maintaining a thorough working knowledge of billing and finance, matter lifecycle and business development processes to guide, coach and quality-check the wider team.
- Overseeing office administration, regulatory compliance and stakeholder relations, ensuring a consistent business support service across all offices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing a sizeable team across secretarial, team administration and operations within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Strong legal operational knowledge, able to provide sound technical advice and recommendations backed by data.
- Excellent organisation skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Exceptional Microsoft Office skill with a strong working knowledge of legal practice systems.
- Strategic thinker with excellent organisational skills, resilience under pressure and strong attention to detail.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office with working knowledge of legal practice systems (CRM, billing & finance, document management, bids management) or equivalent platforms.
- High degree of professionalism, discretion and diplomacy when handling confidential personnel and client information.
