SALARY: £14–£15 PER HOUR (DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential).
  • Extensive experience in children’s residential care.
  • Previous experience working under the regulatory body of Ofsted.
  • Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with resilience in challenging situations.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (required).

SCHEDULE

  • 15-hour shifts.
  • 1 on, 2 off rota.
  • No sleep-ins required.

Responsibilities

As a Team Leader, you will play an integral role in the daily life of our home, supporting both children and staff to flourish. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading shifts with confidence, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the home.
  • Providing supervision, guidance, and role-modelling to staff, supporting their professional development and well-being.
  • Organising and overseeing daily routines and activities to ensure a nurturing, structured, and positive environment for children and young people.
  • Attending and contributing to professional meetings when required, building strong working relationships with key professionals (social workers, team managers, IROs).
  • Maintaining compliance with Ofsted standards and the Children’s Homes Regulations.
  • Working collaboratively with the Home Manager and fellow Team Leaders to uphold the highest standards of care.
  • Taking part in the on-call rota, including evenings and weekends, to provide additional support when needed.
  • Championing a child-centred approach, ensuring every decision made puts the child’s needs first.
