We operate a 3-bedded children’s residential home in Liverpool, offering a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where children and young people (aged 8–17) can thrive.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Team Leader to join our Children’s Residential Home. You will play a key role in leading and motivating a team of Residential Support Workers to deliver high-quality, child-centred care.

This is a hands-on leadership position where you will:

  • Inspire and support staff to provide exceptional care.
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding standards.
  • Oversee care planning and risk management.
  • Foster a trauma-informed, person-centred culture.
  • Support the Registered Manager with inspections, training, and service development.

Every day, you will make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people.
Key Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of Residential Support Workers.
  • Coordinate staff rotas and ensure consistent care delivery.
  • Support training, induction, and reflective team practice.

Compliance & Quality

  • Ensure the service meets Ofsted regulations and company standards.
  • Support the Registered Manager with inspections and continuous improvement.

Care & Safeguarding

  • Oversee personalised care plans and promote child participation.
  • Implement robust safeguarding policies and respond promptly to concerns.
  • Champion trauma-informed approaches and uphold children’s rights.

Risk Management

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and implement safety measures.
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming, and well-kept home environment.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent).
  • Willingness to work towards Level 5 Diploma in Leadership within 2 years.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in residential childcare within the last 5 years.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and Children’s Homes Regulations (2015).
  • Proven leadership and organisational skills.
  • Enhanced DBS and children’s barred list clearance.

Desirable:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or working towards).
  • Degree in Youth Work, Social Work, or related field.
  • 1+ year of supervisory/management experience.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practice and ACEs.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
