Description

Sprout is coming to Cork (Winthrop Street) – and we’re looking for Shift Leaders to help shape our very first restaurant here.
Sprout is built on characters — and attitude is everything. As a Team Leader, you help set the tone for the whole team. You’re key to creating an environment where people want to work, grow, and serve great food every day.
This is a role for someone who leads by example, loves food and people, and wants to step up and help shape culture of the restaurant.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Leadership Development – Support your GM and help guide your team to excel. Lead by example and encourage others to step up.
  • Journey – Help attract, hire and retain great people who reflect the Sprout attitude and have the potential to grow with us.
  • Skill Building – Help develop skills and confidence in yourself and others. Support new starters and help the team grow every week.
  • Team Connection – Foster strong relationships with your GM and team. Encourage open communication and create a positive, supportive atmosphere.
  • Performance Enhancement – Identify areas for improvement and give clear, constructive feedback that helps the team level up.
  • Recognition + Reward – Celebrate team wins, shout out great work, and help create a culture where people feel seen and appreciated.
  • Hospitality Heartbeat – Make sure every customer has a great experience. You know how to turn a tricky situation into a happy return.
  • Checking the Checklists – Stay on top of checklists and restaurant procedures. Carry out spot checks and follow up when needed.
  • Quality Check – Make sure portioning, prep and presentation are consistently great across the service line.
  • Health and Safety – Champion safety and hygiene in the restaurant. Help ensure all protocols are followed to the highest standard.
  • Hygiene Hero – Keep the place clean and safe for both the team and our customers, ensuring top hygiene across the restaurant.
  • Stock Management – Oversee stock takes, track levels accurately, and make sure we’re always ready for the day ahead.
  • Sustainability in Action – Help minimise food waste and promote sustainable practices in the kitchen.
  • Scheduling – Assist in building rosters that suit the needs of the restaurant and help the team deliver a great service.
  • Shift Planner – Own the daily shift planner so everyone knows their role, stays focused, and the shift runs smoothly.

This is a role for someone ready to take ownership and lead from the front. Here’s what matters most:

  • Experience – At least 2 years’ experience in hospitality or a similar fast-paced, high-standard role (outside of Sprout).
  • Leadership Skills – You’ve got natural leadership qualities and know how to bring out the best in people.
  • Communication – Confident, clear, and able to motivate and guide a team.
  • Love for Food – You care deeply about quality, freshness, and presentation.
  • Organised & Reliable – You can juggle multiple tasks and keep the team on track.
  • Curious & Growth-Oriented – You’re eager to keep learning and develop into a stronger leader.
  • Good Level of English – You can communicate clearly with the team and customers, and understand safety procedures
