The role | Te tūnga   Are you experienced in and passionate about digital archiving? At National Library of New Zealand we are looking for an experienced people leader to head our Digital Collection Development Team.  The Digital Collection Development Team of technical specialists is responsible for selecting and acquiring both published and unpublished born-digital content for the Alexander Turnbull Library and National Library collections, helping to ensure that Aotearoa’s documentary heritage is preserved and available in perpetuity.  What you bring | Nōu te rourou  We are looking for someone who: * Has substantial experience with the collection and archiving of born-digital documentary heritage material * Has proven experience in people management, with the ability to lead a team of technical specialists * Has a good understanding of the issues surrounding the curation and preservation of born-digital material, including new and emerging formats * Cares deeply about the long-term preservation of and access to Aotearoa’s documentary heritage * Would support the Archives Library strategic objective of embedding Mātauranga Māori into our work practices Is collegial and has a collaborative working style  Key responsibilities include: * Leadership and management of a team of 7 technical specialists * Thought leadership and expert advice in the collection of born-digital content * The application of technology to develop and implement efficient and scalable workflows for digital material * Working collaboratively across Archives New Zealand and National Library of New Zealand  * Engaging with colleagues and peer institutions about digital archiving and digital preservation, and supporting Aotearoa’s documentary heritage sector through presentations and workshops For you | Mōu At the Department of Internal Affairs, we are committed to offering a collaborative and innovative culture where your perspective and ideas will be welcomed.
