Join the Ayás Mén̓men Early Years and Youth Services team as the Team Leader, Early Intervention, where you will support the wellness of Sḵwx̱wú7mesh children and families through restorative, holistic, and culturally grounded early intervention programming. Rooted in snew̓íyelh (teachings), respect, and community connection, the Early Years team provides a continuum of supports from prenatal to early childhood, ensuring every child and family receives compassionate, culturally aligned, and family‑centered care. As a member of the Family Centres management team, you will oversee the Shewaynewas Parent Program (prenatal to age 3), coordinate early intervention services for families with children from birth to age six, and lead a multidisciplinary team that upholds Squamish teachings and wellness practices. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Facilitate early intervention services within the Shewaynewas Family Program. * Provide leadership to a well‑motivated, competent multidisciplinary team. * Ensure families receive high‑quality services and uphold professional standards. * Develop individualized family care plans grounded in Squamish cultural teachings. * Coordinate access to early intervention therapies, assessments, and community services. * Facilitate referrals to government programs and developmental supports. * Build partnerships with early learning systems and strengthen inter‑agency collaboration. * Coordinate developmental screening and referral pathways across services. * Maintain accurate program and client records. * Build supportive, trusting relationships with children and families. * Supervise staff, including hiring, coaching, and performance management. * Support the Ayás Mén̓men Child & Family Services team to achieve departmental goals. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR * Bachelor’s degree in social services, early childhood development, mental health, child/youth care, or related field. * 4–5 years of experience in early childhood development, case management, social services, or related fields. * Experience supporting children with developmental delays or disabilities. * Knowledge of family‑centre practice and family‑centered service models. * Strong leadership skills with experience supervising staff. * Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship‑building skills. * High emotional intelligence, professionalism, and integrity. * Ability to remain calm, supportive, and diplomatic in high‑pressure situations. * Strong organizational and time‑management abilities. * Intermediate proficiency with MS Office and digital tools; database experience (JD Edwards/Nucleus) an asset. * Experience working in a First Nations environment (preferred). * Valid BC Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle access.
