Description
The Team Leader will be responsible for setting and maintaining the highest standards of team presentation and capability to the client. This person will be responsible for the maintenance of a high level of disciplines and standards within the armed protection team and static security service. The Team Leader will ensure that all staff meet operational and training standards and comply with standard operating procedures. Closing Date: 30 September 2025 Rotation: 6 weeks on / 6 weeks off Potential Start Date: October 2025 Tasks and Responsibilities Operations Full management accountability for operational aspects of delivery of the contract at the base and other sites in Iraq. To ensure Journey Management Process on all client moves and continuous risks analysis of areas of operation and transit routes. To be fully conversant and comply with Rules of Engagement and Use of Force. Maintain high standards of customer service. Maintain management accountability/responsibility for all contract equipment. Use of all communications systems both vehicle mounted and hand held. Proactively meet the changing requirements of clients. Comply with all client reporting requirements. Co-ordination and cooperation with other organisations working with the client. Personnel Management To ensure understanding of and adherence to Control Risks Standard Operating Procedures. To monitor and assess performance of the team. To ensure appropriate behaviour, approach and discipline is maintained along with adherence to Control Risks’ ethical standards. To ensure protection team awareness of and adherence to HSE policies. Integrity and Values To assist in promoting the highest ethical standards across the workforce in the in the Northern region. To embrace, exemplify and promote Control Risks’ core values of integrity and ethics, collaboration and teamwork, commitment to people, professionalism and excellence. To assist in identifying risks to Control Risks’ business including those posed by unethical behaviour. Knowledge and Experience Essential Diplomatic experience Detailed knowledge and understanding of the operational and tactical requirements for mobile security operations and static guarding operations in a hostile environment. Fluent written and spoken English Possess tact, sound judgement and ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing. Preferred Security qualifications Training in recruitment, leadership skills and performance management. Experience managing local guard force Qualifications and Specialist Skills Essential Previous operational experience in a hostile or complex operating environment (Iraq or Afghanistan) Security Industry Authority (SIA) frontline – close protection qualified Medical qualification (MIRA / HEMT) Competent and confident in the use of Microsoft Office products Operational experience Preferred Ex-military commissioned officer, Warrant Officer or Senior Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO) or police equivalent. Ability to work in arduous conditions
