Team Leader – Independent Living Service | Dunedin (Ōtepoti) Full-time | Salary: $82,000 per annum Community Care Trust Aotearoa is looking for a Team Leader to join our Independent Living Service in Dunedin. This role involves leading a team of 30 Support Workers who work alongside people in the community to build independence, develop life skills, and achieve their personal goals. You will support your team through coaching, guidance, and day-to-day leadership while ensuring the people we support receive safe, respectful, and person-centred support. You will help create a positive team culture and build strong relationships with whānau, community services, and other stakeholders. About the role | He kōrero mō tēnei tūranga As Team Leader, you will lead and support a team of Support Workers who work alongside people in the community to build independence and develop practical life skills. You will help ensure individuals are supported to follow their care and rehabilitation plans while encouraging community participation and positive relationships with whānau and peers. A key part of the role is providing coaching, mentoring, and day-to-day guidance to your team, while working collaboratively with internal teams and external services. You will also need the ability to problem solve, think on your feet, and respond calmly and effectively to the changing needs of both staff and the people we support. This is a full-time salaried role and may include one weekend day. Team Leaders also participate in an on-call roster and occasional after-hours support when required. An on-call allowance is remunerated accordingly. About you | Mōu You will bring: • Experience in disability, youth, or mental health support • Understanding of trauma-informed practice • Strong communication and relationship-building skills • Confidence supporting and leading a team • Experience writing reports and using Microsoft Office • A full, clean New Zealand driver licence It would be helpful (but not essential) if you also have: • A relevant tertiary qualification • Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and trauma informed practice You should also: • Hold or be willing to obtain a First Aid Certificate • Be eligible to work in New Zealand with at least 12 months remaining on your visa Community Care Trust Aotearoa is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable people.
