TEAM LEADER - LANDSCAPE GARDENER

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of college, vocational, or technical training in horticulture, landscaping, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a garden care or landscaping role
  • Strong plant identification knowledge, including trees, shrubs, and perennials
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in managing time, prioritizing tasks, and problem-solving in the field
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
  • Valid G-class driver’s license (clean abstract preferred)
  • Truck & Trailer experience required
  • Ability to lead by example and motivate a team with professionalism and respect
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Garden Care Team Leader, you’ll take ownership of daily site operations, leading a crew with professionalism and efficiency. You will oversee horticultural care and seasonal maintenance while maintaining strong client relationships and upholding Tumber’s commitment to excellence. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires horticultural knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to foster team morale and productivity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and oversee day-to-day activities of a garden care crew
  • Create and manage Daily Game Plans and ensure timely execution of all tasks
  • Conduct high-end garden maintenance including planting, pruning, fertilizing, weeding, edging, and seasonal cleanups
  • Monitor and assess plant health and recommend treatments where needed
  • Communicate professionally with clients and team members to ensure expectations are met or exceeded
  • Train and mentor junior staff, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to company standards
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and vehicles are maintained in a clean and organized state
  • Uphold and enforce all health and safety protocols on site
  • Report directly to Garden Care Manager regarding crew progress, site conditions, and client feedback
