Role Overview As a Team Leader for Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Operations at LSEG, you will lead a dynamic, multilingual team of researchers supporting due diligence efforts across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Based in Penang, this role plays a pivotal part in delivering timely, accurate, and high-quality EDD reports that helps global clients to make informed risk-based decisions in sophisticated jurisdictions. You will foster operational perfection, develop a culture of continuous learning, and ensure alignment with global compliance and quality standards. This role requires strong people leadership, cross-cultural teamwork, and the ability to navigate change in a fast-paced, evolving geopolitical landscape. Key Responsibilities Lead and Empower a High-Performing Team Encourage, mentor, and develop a diverse team of EDD researchers, including specialists proficient in Arabic and other MENA languages. Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous growth through regular feedback, mentoring, and career development initiatives. Drive Operational Excellence Lead all aspects of daily operations to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality due diligence reports that meet client expectations and internal SLAs. Use data-driven insights to supervise performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement proactive solutions. Champion Quality and Compliance Ensure all outputs meet global regulatory standards and client-specific requirements. Lead quality assurance efforts including peer reviews, audits, and root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement. Optimise Processes and Scale Efficiency Identify and implement process improvements using automation and workflow tools to enhance turnaround time and consistency. Support the implementation and evolution of a multi-contributor model to increase scalability and flexibility. Collaborate Across Borders Serve as a key liaison between the Penang EDD team and other regional EDD teams or other product or technology divisions to align priorities, processes, and performance goals. Share regional insights and guidelines to contribute to global knowledge-sharing and innovation. Required Qualifications & Experience Extensive experience coordinating research functions, compliance, or risk operations in a global context, ideally with exposure to MENA markets. Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and championing teams. Excellent communication and team member engagement skills across locations and time zones. Proficiency in Arabic (spoken and written) is required. Bachelor’s degree required; certifications in AML, KYC, or compliance (e.g., CAMS, ICA) are considered a plus. Familiarity with MENA regulatory environments, cultural nuances, and geopolitical risk factors is a strong advantage.
