JOB OPPORTUNITY

Our Coastal Outreach service is one of our largest and busiest services, and so the successful applicant will need to be very organised, have great time management skills and previous leadership experience.
The role will include a mixture of administration work and delivering of support to the service users, you will be able to work closely with your Service Manager to ensure the safe and effective delivery of service; following a person-centered ethos of support which builds individual’s confidence and promotes independence, whilst facilitating growth and quality assurance within the team.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Previous experience, ideally Mental Health/LD/Neurodiverse support.
  • Previous leadership and/or management experience.
  • Previous experience of creating, amending and managing a rota.
  • To demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines and respond to changes in an individual’s needs, a strong applicant will have strong prioritization skills.
  • To show leadership within a team structure and maintain a positive culture of enablement.
  • To create, manage and sustain participation and involvement from the people we support.
  • Confidence in creating and carrying out person centred action plans. A successful applicant will be able to guide their staff team in using these plans.
  • To have a strong understanding of risk in relation to mental health, LD and neurodivergence, how risk can be managed and how you can engage with positive risk taking.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding protocol and how to manage safeguarding concerns with the clients’ best interests in mind.
  • Computer literate, with confidence in using all Microsoft Office programmes.
  • Ability to positively address and challenge inappropriate or negative behaviours and attitudes.
  • Experience in using therapeutic de-escalation and/or crisis intervention techniques.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • It would be desirable for you to have had experience supporting a person(s) with a mental health condition and within a community-based service.
  • It would be desirable to have had experience leading a dispersed team.
  • To understand and have previous experience engaging in a recovery approach with clients.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Team Leaders are the first point of contact for the people we support and their team. This is an exciting role with opportunities to develop your people and operational management skills. You will be providing leadership and support to your team as well as signposting and managing incident responses.
Venture-People strive to promote recovery, autonomy and independence for individuals who require high levels of support in relation to their mental health. You will be working with a range of individuals with complex mental health needs ensuring the service is operating both safely and consistently in order to meet the needs of the service users.

KEY DUTIES OF THE TEAM MANAGER

  • To facilitate the delivery of a service which follows a person-centred ethos and utilises the values of recovery to deliver support which builds an individual’s confidence and promotes independence.
  • Management of the East Onwards Reablement Team, providing, support guidance and line management to a growing service team.
  • Incident management and liaising regularly with the clinical team and external MDT partners to ensure a robust package of support for each client is provided.
  • Providing ongoing assessment of ever-changing risks to ensure safe management and reporting.
  • To complete dynamic risk assessments and provide support to individuals, including through utilisation of the Responsive Services to maximise wellbeing and appropriately manage risk.
  • Working with your service manager and referring agents to complete thorough assessments of the need and development of the service offer.
  • Working alongside a dedicated Registered Behaviour Technician, you’ll be responsible for developing person centred plans, risk assessments and guiding your team in following these in tandem with company policy and procedure.
  • To follow policies and procedures within the workplace to protect our team and the people we support, including safeguarding, investigations and health and safety.
  • Facilitate and manage a staff roster; providing responsive and emergency support when required. This will include participation within the daytime and out of hours Duty Management Roster
  • To follow national guidelines in all aspects of operation, including adherence to policies and procedures, code of conduct and the facilitation of inspection and improvement
  • To work flexibly as required by the service; this may require some working outside of your normal hours to provide consistent support in the event of staff sickness or to facilitate staff training/supervision. This could include potential evening or weekend work
