POSITION DETAILS Winrock is recruiting a Team Leader for the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) Reforestation project in Nepal. This position is contingent upon award. ESSENTIAL RESPONSBILITIES Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the MCA-Nepal Reforestation Project. Represent the project to MCA-Nepal, Ministry of Forests and Environment (MoFE), provincial and local government authorities and other stakeholders; ensure compliance with Electricity Transmission Project (ETP) Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and donor requirements. Oversee planning, budgeting, and resource allocation across all components and sites. Supervise and coordinate the work of technical specialists and site managers; ensure timely delivery of outputs. Ensure integration of environmental and social safeguards into all project activities. Lead high-level problem-solving and risk management for operational and compliance issues. Liaise with government agencies, local communities, and stakeholders to maintain effective collaboration. Approve technical plans, progress reports, and financial summaries before submission. Oversee construction of plantation-related infrastructure (roads, nurseries, irrigation systems, fencing, storage facilities, etc.). QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND: Education: Master’s Degree in Engineering, Natural Resource Management, Environment, or a related field. Work Experience: At least 10 years of project management experience, preferably in reforestation projects or natural resource management. Experience in managing at least one or two reforestation projects in infrastructure contexts. Experience supervising engineering and construction work is an asset. At least 5 years’ experience in project design and management of forestry sector projects at Local, Provincial, or National levels in Nepal. Experience in at least one project that included gender and social inclusion. Proven experience in a leadership position with donor-funded projects; experience with MCA-Nepal is desired. Experience leading large and multi-disciplinary programs. Financial management, budget design, and budget management experience Excellent written and spoken communication skills in Nepali and English. Winrock is an equal opportunity employer.
