Description

A Night Warehouse Team Leader is responsible for overseeing a team of warehouse operatives during night shifts, ensuring smooth operations, productivity, and safety. They support the Night Operations Manager in achieving targets, overseeing training, and promoting a positive work environment.

  • Direct Supervision:Oversee the activities of night warehouse team members, ensuring they are performing their tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Task Allocation:Assign tasks to team members based on skills and workload, ensuring all work is completed effectively.
  • Performance Monitoring:Track team performance against productivity, providing feedback and support to improve efficiency.
  • Training & Development:Oversee the induction and ongoing training of new and existing staff, ensuring they are competent in their roles.
  • Workload Management:Adapt to varying inbound and outbound workloads, adjusting team assignments and priorities accordingly.
  • Process Compliance:Ensure all operational processes are followed, including picking, packing, receiving, and loading procedures.
  • Problem Solving:Identify and resolve operational issues as they arise, ensuring minimal disruption to the workflow.
  • Shift Coordination:Liaise with other shifts and departments to ensure a smooth handover of tasks and information.
  • Safe Practices:Lead the team on health and safety, ensuring good working practices are followed and all safety procedures are adhered to.
  • Compliance:Maintain all operational processes are fully compliant with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Environment:Ensure a clean and safe working environment, addressing any hazards or risks promptly.
  • Inventory Management:Support with inventory checks, stock rotation, and reporting any discrepancies to the Night Operations Manager.
  • Communication:Cascade all communication on key performance targets to all levels of staff.
  • Customer Service:Contribute to a positive working environment that delivers excellent service levels for customers.
  • Flexibility:Be flexible in covering shifts and potential shift run overtimes when busy.

The Team Leader Night Shift Warehouse position will assist the team in the Picking, Packing and Loading of Frozen, Chilled and Ambient orders onto vehicles ready for our customers next day deliveries.
This is a Full time position working from 10pm - 6am, 5 days a week over a 6 days
Your working week will be Sunday - Friday with Saturdays off plus 1 other day off during the week.
You will be working in a temperature controlled food distribution warehouse as part of a team.
This role is fast paced and would suit a physically fit person (max 25kg). Excellent reading and communication skills are essential for this role.
Driving license would be an advantage due to location but not necessary.
Previous warehouse work or working within the food industry would also be advantageous but not essential as training will be given.
