Responsibilities

The Team Leader will lead a team of circa. 35 people, locally within our Bristol Roads team, and additionally part of our attached Roads iCRC team. The Team Leader will work alongside our two other offices in the southwest region and is responsible for the development and operational performance of the team, as part of the wider cost centre to meet regional budget targets and deliver projects. We support both public sector and private sector clients and this role will support major commissions, including, National Highways Scheme Delivery Framework schemes and other Local Authority Frameworks, such as Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP), Wokingham and the West of England Combined Authority.

In this role your responsibilities will include:

  • Being a champion of our health, safety, and well-being culture by leading by example.
  • Maintaining an overview of the financial performance for projects within your cost centre.
  • Drive operational excellence to achieve budget targets on utilisation.
  • Manage and monitor technical delivery to ensure ‘right first time’.
  • Line manage and develop members of the team to achieve their goals and aspirations.
  • Lead on business development activities to bring in new, sustainable opportunities for WSP.
  • Supporting and working with the Group Director and their goals for the cost centre.
  • Leading on projects to ensure technical quality and timely delivery.
