  • An unrestricted Legal Practicing Certificate and the capacity to provide legal supervision (desirable).

Responsibilities

This role provides leadership and supervision to team of Industrial and Legal Officers within the Workplace Advice and Support (WAS) Team. The role works autonomously within a collaborate and collegiate environment, reporting to the National Director of IR.

The role will:

  • Direct the work of a small team within WAS and appropriately delegate.
  • Manage a case load of individual and/ or collective industrial/legal matters.
  • Manage complex industrial bargaining campaigns where required.
  • Manage and lead projects. This may include, but is not limited to, training, briefing materials, presentations and/or media materials.
  • Supervise less experienced employees, including provision of legal supervision.
  • Contribute to team reporting and projects.
  • Work with and assist the National Director of IR as required.
  • Liaise with and develop relationships with other teams within Professional Australia.
  • Potential to deputise for the National Director of IR as required.
