Description

Hours: 37 hours weekly over 5 days, on a flexible basis to meet the needs of the organisation. Evening & weekend work will be necessary occasionally. No overtime will be paid, but time off in lieu can be taken as agreed with the line manager.
Salary: Salary is dependent on experience.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience supporting disabled and older people in a care or community setting.
  • Strong understanding of both the social and medical models of disability, with a commitment to empowering individuals.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and the protection of vulnerable adults.
  • Familiarity with legislation related to care provision, including CQC standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and compassionately.
  • High levels of empathy, patience, and sensitivity when working with vulnerable individuals.
  • Strong organisational skills, including case management, prioritising tasks, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Proficient IT and telephone skills, including use of digital systems for documentation and communication.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification
Responsibilities

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To Whom: Deputy Manager, Service Manager, Operations Manager, Committee, Chief Executive.
For Whom: Support Workers, Activities and Life Skills Officers, Activity Co-ordinators, Holiday Club Co-ordinators, Volunteers, trainees, and student placements at the Centre.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Support the implementation of new initiatives and service improvements.
  • Liaise with families, carers, and professionals to ensure holistic support.
  • Participating in training and development opportunities as required.
