About the Project Modernization of 12 HV Transmission Lines (220kV) with a total length of 345 km across multiple lots. Expansion and upgrading of 4 substations (220kV) Multi-site international program requiring strong coordination, leadership, and delivery excellence About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Team Leader - Transmission & Substation to lead the delivery of a multi-site power infrastructure program in Uzbekistan. You will act as the single point of accountability for project delivery, ensuring alignment across technical, commercial, and operational aspects while managing multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the full project lifecycle across transmission lines and substations Provide strategic direction to engineering, supervision, and contractor teams Ensure delivery of scope, quality, cost, and schedule in line with contractual requirements Act as the primary interface with the client, stakeholders, and funding agencies Oversee design review, construction supervision, and commissioning activities Manage risks, variations, and contractual compliance Drive team performance, collaboration, and project reporting Key Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred) 20+ years of experience in power transmission and substation projects Proven experience in 220kV or higher voltage systems Strong background in transmission line and substation design, construction, and supervision Previous experience as Team Leader / Project Director / Resident Engineer on similar international projects Experience working on multilaterally funded projects (e.g., World Bank, ADB, KfW) is highly preferred Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills Experience working in Central Asia or similar regions is an advantage Why Join SMEC?
