We're seeking experienced Traffic or Transportation Engineers to join our Transport Advisory team as Team Leaders. These newly established dual-focused roles will allow you to remain technically engaged while coordinating and mentoring a team. With multiple roles based in either our Brisbane CBD or North Sydney waterside offices, you'll manage team members who may be in either location. The Transport Advisory team has a strong reputation for technical excellence, providing high-quality traffic engineering and transport planning advice to clients across diverse market sectors. Our 20+ specialists work collaboratively across offices to deliver solutions from initial feasibility through to implementation for projects across Australia. As a motivated, organised and supportive professional, you'll balance technical delivery and team development while working closely with the Technical Discipline Manager and other Team Leaders to deliver commercial outcomes. Responsibilities These dual-focused roles suit consultants who thrive on combining technical delivery with team leadership. Reporting to the Technical Discipline Manager, you will balance project work with building team capability to support both technical and commercial outcomes. Responsibilities include: Delivering and overseeing projects at an Associate, Principal or Technical Director level Building and developing client relationships to secure ongoing project opportunities for yourself and others Leading and developing a team of up to 10 transport consultants, providing mentorship and support for their professional growth Managing day-to-day team operations including overseeing workload scheduling, team utilisation and timesheet administration to ensure we meet commercial targets Working with the Talent Acquisition team and Technical Discipline Manager on recruitment activities to achieve team growth targets Understanding team members' career aspirations and supporting them through development planning and goal achievement Overseeing team member health, safety and overall wellbeing, including areas such as fieldwork protocols, workplace support and HSE compliance Fostering our collaborative culture through mentoring, knowledge sharing and contributing to continuous improvement across the technical discipline Experience Our ideal candidates will have a minimum of 10 years' industry experience, including substantial experience within a consultancy environment, and have: A professional qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline Demonstrated skills and expertise in traffic engineering and transport planning practice, with knowledge of industry trends and opportunities in Australia, particularly QLD and NSW A track record in building client relationships and excellent communication skills Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to balance technical delivery with team development Experience mentoring and developing junior staff, with strong skills in team coordination and people management Proven people management experience will be highly regarded but we will also consider exceptional consultants ready to take their first step into team leadership.
