Description
Purpose: Coordinates the daily activities of the department, including assisting with employee training and performance assessment. Supervise the transporters in the movement of patients and equipment to and from assigned areas. Assists to facilitate complaint resolution. This position will be Wednesday- Saturday, 6 am - 4 pm. Responsibilities: Coordinate and assist with the evaluations and training of all personnel in area of responsibility. Perform all duties of Transport position as outlined in job title Transporter. Report any and all problems and suggestions to the Shift Supervisor. Coordinate the monthly in-services for the department with the Manager. Maintain control, location, and inspection of wheelchairs and/or stretchers. Assist Supervisors with monthly system wide competencies on existing staff. Develop an open working relationship with unit personnel and Supervisors. Ensure that the daily work of all team members is completed and ensure that they go to their assigned locations. In the absence of the Shift Supervisor temporarily act in a supervisory capacity; assume the responsibilities of this individual. Maintain a courteous professional demeanor and communicate appropriately with patients, visitors, hospital personnel and fellow employees at all times. HS Diploma/GED. 2 years relevant experience required. Knowledgeable about all safety, universal precaution, fire, evacuation, emergency care, and disaster policies and procedures. Knowledgeable of all transporter responsibilities and hospital layout. Requires the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in order to successfully complete Transport duties and the ability to use Transport equipment. Ability to handle multiple demands in high stress and emergency situations is required. Ability to communicate professional with various user groups is required.
