Term: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 35 hours per week
Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 9:00am & 2:00pm - 6:00pm + admin
Start Date: August 18th, 2025
Salary: $24.82 per hour

NATURE & SCOPE

Lead with Purpose! We’re seeking a passionate and organized Team Lead to oversee our inclusive before and after school program for children ages 5–12. In this dynamic role, you’ll supervise and mentor a team of staff and volunteers, plan and lead engaging indoor and outdoor activities, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all children and families. You’ll be responsible for child-centered programming, active supervision, conflict resolution, and fostering positive relationships with children, families, and community partners. Additional duties include preparing healthy snacks, maintaining a clean and professional space, and handling administrative tasks such as payroll and budget tracking. Major Responsibilities- in this position, you will:

  • Design and lead engaging indoor and outdoor activities for children.
  • Provide direct supervision and mentorship to staff and volunteers.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment through child-centered programming.
  • Build strong relationships with families, staff, and community partners.
  • Manage administrative duties including payroll and budget tracking.
  • Ensure active supervision and safety of all children at all times.
  • Prepare and serve nutritious snacks.
  • Support children in resolving conflicts and model positive behavior.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional program space.
  • Uphold all health and safety standards.

Qualification-you bring:

  • Must be at least 19 years of age.
  • Experience working or volunteering with children.
  • At least one year of experience in a leadership or supervisory role, or demonstrated leadership qualities in a comparable child-focused environment.
  • Emergency First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire).
  • Training in child development is considered an asset (YMCA-provided training available).
  • Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.
