POSITION SUMMARY

This is a highly responsible management position, which administers the delivery of a wide range of child protective programs. This position requires a working knowledge of Agency procedures, state and federal laws, administrative rules and regulations pertaining to the mission of child protective services, as well as personnel rules and regulations. The incumbent reports directly to the Director of Family Services and will be responsible to motivate, communicate, evaluate, plan and direct the work of the Unit Managers and/or team leaders. This position is responsible for county wide and/or cross county services, to include budget monitoring and maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree with six (6) years’ experience in human services or related field and three (3) years’ experience in supervision/management OR a master’s degree with at least four (4) years’ experience and two (2) years of supervision/ management. A doctorate may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
  • The following related degrees will be accepted: Counseling, Social Work, Human Services, Education, Human Sciences, Law, Behavioral Sciences, Human Development, Psychology, Social Policy, Sociology, Public Administration, Education, Community Development, Health Science, Political Science, and Criminal Justice/Criminology.
  • Certification as a Child Protection Professional. If not certified, must complete certification within one year of employment.
  • Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.
