“She listens to me. I don’t talk to people, but I can talk to her. She has helped me a lot” the words of one of the young people we work with.
We’re making a real difference to the lives of the children and families we work with in Swindon.
Join us and be part of that difference.
ABOUT US
There really has never been a more exciting time to join us.
We’re proud to be one of just a few local authorities in the country using the Family Safeguarding Model, bringing together one team of workers with a range of skills and knowledge to offer help and support to families around a wide range of problems.
Our Family Safeguarding Model teams include:
Together, our teams combine their knowledge and expertise to assess the needs of the whole family, providing services and support to meet those needs.

We use motivational interviewing (MI) - a strengths-based conversational approach to counselling that encourages families to improve their children’s welfare by enhancing their motivation to change.
In a recent Peer Review by Hertfordshire Centre of Practice our Children’s Services was commended for our staff’s commitment to working through the Family Safeguarding Model and highlighted many examples of good practice which are resulting in good outcomes for children, including how we use motivational interviewing techniques and strengths-based language.
We’re looking for someone who is passionate and committed to making a real difference by embracing innovate ways of working with our partners and families and driving this model of working forward.
Candidates must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).
We’re looking for a new Team Manager for our Family Safeguarding Team. You’ll lead, support and develop incredible people who are working exceptionally hard to ensure that all our children can achieve their potential.
As a Team Manager you will develop and grow relationships within the team and with our partners to deliver an effective service, which is timely, within budget and in line with policies and procedures.
You will provide quality supervision to support social workers alongside children, young people and their families to champion their needs whilst building trust and confidence.
