Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Catastrophe Claims in your role as a team manager, you will be overseeing and leading the activities of catastrophe claims (consisting of both automobile and residential) professionals to ensure they provide a legendary customer experience.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Communicate productivity objectives to employees and contribute to the achievement of business objectives by meeting or exceeding individual and team goals
  • balancing the needs of the client and those of the organization when addressing client escalations
  • Approve accurate and timely reserving of claims
  • Approve payments and verify files
  • Ensure necessary due diligence to support the accuracy of all insurance claims
  • Support the development and implementation of claims strategies to achieve business objectives and goals
  • Plan and execute business activities, review and communicate results, and adjust tactics accordingly
  • Ensure employees are knowledgeable; and assume responsibility to minimize operational and regulatory risk by complying with Bank and industry Code of Conduct
  • Lead a high performing team; provide on-going feedback and performance reviews, coach and develop employees and ensure performance management activities are undertaken and completed for all employees
  • Recruit for all hires to ensure a highly diverse, qualified workforce to achieve business objectives
  • Industry accreditation and training on an ongoing basis may be a requirement of the role

Job Requirements

  • Proficiency in XACTANALYSIS
  • 3+ years claims adjusting experience is required (multiple lines would be considered an asset)
  • Previous experience leading a team of claims adjusters is a strong asset
  • Familiarity with Residential Virtual Appraisal is an asset
  • You have a superior client service orientation.
  • You have excellent organization and time management skills.
  • You have demonstrated your ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.
  • You have the ability to effectively lead change and help foster an environment open to change.
  • You possess strong typing and computer skills.
  • You maintain a positive demeanor and foster team spirit.
  • You have demonstrated good attendance and promptness.
  • Ability to work overtime on short notice as required
