We are looking for a flexible and motivated Team Manager, with experience of working with challenging young people with mental health needs and complex backgrounds.

To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:

  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g., Social Work degree, Community Psychiatric Nurse RMN qualification, Psychotherapist qualification)
  • Health and Care Professions Council registration (e.g., Social Work England, NMC registration, HCPC registration)
  • Extensive and up-to-date working knowledge of relevant national and local policy, statutory guidance, and legislation in relation to social care services
  • Ability to communicate effectively in highly charged, complex, or challenging situations
  • Ability to promote positive working relationships, with excellent partnership working skills
  • Demonstrable experience in successful recruiting, performance managing, coaching, and developing staff
  • Ability to gather information to inform judgement for interventions in more complex or ambiguous situations, supporting others to do the same

Responsibilities

THIS ROLE HAS A STARTING SALARY OF £52,047 PER ANNUM BASED ON A 36 HOUR WORKING WEEK.

We are excited to be hiring a new full-time, permanent Team Manager to join our fantastic Hope Service based in Epsom.

ABOUT THE ROLE

There are two Team Manager posts in the HOPE Service, one based on each site. Each has responsibility for the daily management and oversight of the day programme and community outreach provision by staff based on their site, in close liaison with their Professional Lead colleagues. The role involves close collaboration with Children’s Services, working alongside colleagues from different professional disciplines within HOPE.
The role of Team Manager within Hope is to lead, motivate and manage; ensuring the service provided is consistent, effective and delivers positive outcomes for individuals, their carers and families. The Team Manager contributes to, and supports, the development of practice, procedures and policy, and specifically the professional development of the team. They are accountable for the provision of effective professional practice within the team, the provision of effective, reflective professional supervision, as well as line management and appraisal.
The Team Manager also provides expert guidance in situations of complexity, where there is conflict or resistance and enables others in the team to manage complex and challenging situations. They deputise for the general manager when required.
