Job Summary: Sales associates are expected to maintain a positive representation of Churchill Hardware by providing an outstanding customer service experience consistent with company values. The main task of a team member is to assist customers and maintain a clean and efficient sales floor. They should be willing to continually learn and expand their knowledge of the retail industry. Their job will include, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities: Responsibilities: Greet and offer help to customers upon entering the store and within various areas of the store Keep store clean and organized Become an expert at the POS System Create and generate add-on sales Accurately enter customers into the rewards program and explain the benefits of joining Maintain confidentiality of all customers personal information Stocking shelves and putting away stock from freight/deliveries Answer phone calls and provide customer service over the phone as if they were in store Help customers within the store locating the right products for their project Improve sales and customer connections Be the cashier when needed; handle transactions, special orders, returns, and repair tickets with ease Other tasks as assigned Take pride in self and position Regular and predictable attendance is essential for this job Create customer connections to help welcome them back for their next project Learn to pump propane and cut keys Qualifications: Good Attitude and Hard Working Attention to Instruction and Detail Communicates Well with Others and Asks Questions Appropriately Follows All Store Procedure Willing and able to learn about products and how they work together, some previous knowledge required Team Player; can jump to any position without hesitation to help the needs of customers, cashier, and team members Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, events, holidays, and weekends to meet the needs of the business Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently while stocking the store and as it is requested by customers to load and unload customer purchases Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time Must be able to read, talk, hear, type, and spell Specific vision abilities required by this position include, but are not limited to, depth perception, color vision, close and far vision, and the ability to adjust focus where needed Goals: Boost overall sales by closing the sale and promoting the store’s loyalty program and add-on sales. Continually expand knowledge of all departments in the store. Become a versatile employee, able to help in other areas when needed. Take a personal interest in products sold in the store and gain the knowledge to make new products and merchandising recommendations to management. After enough experience, become a mentor to new employees and help them understand products and retail concepts.
