JOB SUMMARY

We’re looking for a Team Supervisor for the Animal Care Team at our Farm. We have a zoo licence, and are home to a range of animals including heritage / rare breeds of Sheep, Goats and Pigs. We also have Alpacas, Cattle, Equines, Reptiles and Birds of Prey.
The role is hands on, and the ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care / livestock farming, along with exceptional leadership skills. This role is pivotal in maintaining high standards of animal care

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Animal Qualification to degree standard or higher
  • Management Qualification / Experience managing a team
  • Farm Management and Livestock care qualification
  • Experience with Birds of Prey or Exotics
  • Tractor / Tele-handler Driving Qualification or Experience

Responsibilities
  • Work within the team, covering a section of the farm each day, caring for our animals and leading by example
  • Make suggestions for better, more efficient ways of working
  • Lead our Animal Care team, embedding a solution focused approach to challenges.
  • Organise the team in a way that motivates the team - have excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Lead the team through the task of weighing all our animals monthly
  • Responsible for ensuring all farm (zoo) procedures and protocols are followed at all times, take care of departmental reporting, and conducting ongoing monitoring and evaluation
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with Animal Welfare regulations and Zoo Standards.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop Animal Care staff to enhance their skills and performance to ensure standard operating procedures are implemented across the team.
  • Coordinate processes to ensure accurate record keeping and efficient working practises
  • Train team members and support them to learn new skills. Coach them to provide consistent standards of care to our animals
  • Work with the Operations Director in the implementation, monitoring and adherence to health and safety systems within the department.
  • Manage and organise volunteers and their contribution to ensuring they are delivering in line with the Tattershall Farm Park values
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team effectively.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail in all aspects of the role.
