REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 1 year in a leadership role
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (IAS, Swiss GAAP and IFRS)
  • Experience in an international environment, ideally in a SaaS or digital business
  • Track record of managing or supporting audits and working with external accounting firms
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Self-driven, solution-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, scale-up environment
  • Fluent in English (German is a plus, Serbian is crazy ;))
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day accounting operations across our entities in Switzerland and Serbia, including GL, AR, AP, payroll accounting, and month-end close.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements for the Smallpdf Group (Smallpdf AG and PDF Tools AG) on Standalone and Consolidated level in accordance with Swiss GAAP.
  • Own and coordinate the financial audit process across all entities.
  • Manage and mentor a small internal but distributed team and coordinate external accounting partners and auditors in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Oversee and execute tax filings, VAT reporting, and inter-company transactions in collaboration with external providers.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial controls, automation, and accounting processes.
  • Support the finance leadership team in strategic projects such as due diligence, acquisitions, and other corporate initiatives.
  • Own and maintain accounting policies, ensuring compliance with internal controls and local regulatory requirements.
