Location: Hamburg | Hybrid: 3 Days onsite | Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time JOB SUMMARY As Team Lead Electrical Engineering & Software, you will take on both technical and disciplinary leadership of a dedicated interdisciplinary team. You will be responsible for the development and continuous improvement of electrical subsystems such as power distribution units, control hardware, and functional safety architectures. Together with your team, you will help shape the future of our laser products – safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with applicable standards and regulations. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership and development of a dedicated team of approximately 8 employees in the field of Electrical Engineering & Software for CO₂ lasers and systems Active advancement of team competencies through coaching, mentoring, and further training Responsibility for the integration and further development of: o Power distribution systems and customer-specific interfaces o Functional safety in accordance with relevant standards (e.g., EN ISO 13849) o Control hardware and microcontroller-based systems including their firmware (C++, C#) o Industrial control systems and communication interfaces Collaboration within the Coherent Group, e.g., through coordination with international development teams and the integration of global best practices into local implementation ABOUT YOU Degree in engineering (electronics / electrical engineering, high-frequency engineering) or comparable studies Experience in developing electrical systems – ideally in the field of high-power laser systems or special-purpose machinery Leadership experience in technical teams – empathetic, decisive, and with a clear sense of priorities Solid knowledge of relevant standards and safety regulations A structured, solution-oriented mindset and strong commitment to quality Fluency in German (spoken and written) and good command of English for international collaboration APPLICATION & SELECTION Current employees who wish to apply should submit a cover letter detailing their interest in the position and how their skills and experience align with the requirements of the role.
