Heartland Imaging is currently seeking an experienced Tech Assistant for a Full-Time Flex position at our outpatient imaging center located in Elizabethtown, KY. This position is primarily weekdays, with a rotating Saturday shift. Facilitates the patient flow to minimize patient wait times and maximize the utilization of resources. Demonstrates competence with all imaging safety compliance initiatives. Serves as part of the imaging center team and seeks as well as provides feedback for improved clinical practice. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Identifies patients and provides assistance with the completion of pre-procedure forms. Starts IV access according to standard procedure under the direction of a Radiologist, and in accordance with state law. Corroborates patient's clinical history with physicians order and procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed independent practitioner. May also verify informed consent, if applicable. Provides optimal patient care by explaining procedure to patient and answering questions. Follows established Safety Standards to ensure safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Collaborates with referring clinics to facilitate patient care. Assists staff with supply inventory needs and keeps rooms stocked as appropriate. Maintains all medical record documentation in RIS and PACS as appropriate. Participates in ongoing customer service and process improvement efforts. Facilitates film/CD readiness as needed for patients and referring offices. Participates in performance improvement activities. Demonstrates consistent use of AIDET (Acknowledge patient, Introduce yourself, provide Duration/timeline for test, Explain the test, & Thank them for choosing our center) and HEAL ( Hear them out, Empathize, Apologize, & Leap into action to solve) when interacting with patients/customers. Takes the initiative to help other modalities/areas of the Imaging Center as assigned or when work load/area allows. Attends/participates in staff meetings, in-services, and center-wide meetings as scheduled. Performs all other duties as assigned. Requirements EDUCATION: Must have a minimum Associates Degree in Radiology and be a graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography, or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMIT) and maintain current valid registration from ARRT or ARMIT. MR advanced registration through ARRT or ARMIT is required upon hire for IDTF centers. Additionally, must meet the state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice.
