Description Job Title Tech Assistant Reports to Department Manager Status Full Time/Non-Exempt Tech Assistant Position Summary We are currently seeking individuals interested in evening shifts to join our radiology team as a Tech Assistant. This role plays a vital part in supporting daily imaging operations while ensuring a positive and efficient patient experience. The Tech Assistant is responsible for greeting and assisting patients, obtaining medical histories, and preparing patients for diagnostic imaging exams. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining safety protocols, particularly in MRI environments. Clinical responsibilities include starting IVs, performing I-STAT testing, and preparing laboratory work for upcoming appointments. In addition to direct patient care, the Tech Assistant supports the radiology department by uploading outside imaging studies, maintaining clean and well-stocked patient areas, and assisting technologists and staff with routine operational tasks. Flexibility to work varied shifts and at multiple locations is essential. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Tech Assistant Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer services with greeting and acknowledging all patients in a friendly and professional manner. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Work with patients in preparing them for their exams. This may include obtaining medical histories, having patients change and other required prep for the patient’s exam. Obtain detailed information on MRI safety sheet and have patient remove all personal belongs to ensure their safety. Start IV’s and run I-STAT as needed. Assist fellow co-workers with daily tasks. Work up labs for next day appointments and other tasks that might be assigned. Request outside imaging and/or upload outside imaging for comparisons. Keep patient areas clean and stocked.
