The Emergency Medical Services Department is charged with the delivery, management and transport of patients involved in traumatic and medical emergencies. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is responsible for emergency medical care in the pre-hospital environment. Works under on-line and off-line medical control providing basic life support. Provides direct patient care under the supervision of the RN in the Emergency Department or Paramedic. Responsibilities Supports and assists with the delivery of patient care, under the direction of the RN or Paramedic. Assists with the maintenance and cleaning of patient care and medical equipment. Performs routine equipment function tests and calibrations. Assists with the inventory of supplies and equipment ensuring adequate supply levels.
