Job title: Tech Expert - Desktop Support Job Description: DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensures that personal computer system/peripherals of the company are in good working conditions. Continuously monitors personal computer system utilization levels and make recommendation to support present & future business applications. Install and configure basic operating system including network properties and related utilities/software packages required for personal computer system. Monitors trends and developments in PC technology and look into its applicability to business. Develop subordinates on basic and advanced computer hardware system troubleshooting and ensure that they are properly equipped to perform required duties and responsibilities. Handles minor cabling tasks. Handles computer hardware inventory and documentation. Submit productivity reports. Information Security Management System Protects the organization’s assets thru upholding the principles of the Quality Information Security Management System (QISMS). Ensures confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information critical to fulfilling the organizations business functions. Able to establish, implement and continuously improve the quality information security policies assigned to him / her. Able to establish structure and procedures to protect classified information. Able to report information security related incidents without any delay to the right authority. Example: All information-related incidents, losses, weaknesses and software/hardware malfunctions, breaches of confidentiality. Able to participate during training, orientation and awareness programs pertaining to QISMS. General Safety and Security Protects the organization’s assets by upholding the principles of the Quality Information Security Management System (QISMS). Ensures confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information critical to fulfilling the organization’s business functions. COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS: Able to administer/use the following company standard operating system; DOS Windows; Windows NT Workstation Able to perform installation/configuration and troubleshooting on personal computer system components/peripherals; CPU Memory Hard disk I/O Card Video Card Disk Drive Monitor Keyboard Mouse Multi-Media Cards Add-on Peripherals (i.e. scanners, digital camera, etc.) Microsoft Products Able to configure/use personal computer with company standard networking protocols; NetBEUI (Microsoft Windows) IPX/SPX (Novell Netware) TCP/IP (Unix) Able to operate/use company standard utilities, diagnostic software and performance monitoring tools; Norton, McAfee Able to monitors trends and developments in PC technology and look into its applicability to business. Able to conduct training related to hardware/software system. Able to evaluates and tests hardware/software, system tool products and submit recommendations to procurement. Customer service orientation. Able to communicate effectively with client and vendors. Able to generate reports using company standard software package. Able to identify and explain in user friendly terms the use of various types of personal computer system/peripherals. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Reports to: IT Assoc Manager/IT Manager Graduate or undergraduate of B.S. in Computer Engineering. At least 2-3 years experience in the industry or similar field Basic fundamental networking concepts such as TCP/IP, WINS, ADS, NIS, DNS, subnets and/or switching Familiar with computer applications (MS Office, MS Project, Visio, Internet, etc.). Ability to adapt to change and learn quickly. Keen on details. Articulate and should know how to keep confidential matters. Team-worker with passion for excellence and has sense of urgency.
