Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced iOS Tech Lead to provide technical direction for our iOS project. Working onsite with our iOS team (this position is not intended for remote work), you’ll play a key role in ensuring that development aligns with business requirements, priorities, and available resources. A central aspect of this position is understanding the product’s technical landscape, including its interaction with the Magnos embedded device, and making strategic decisions on architecture, frameworks, and design patterns, while striking the right balance between code quality, extensibility, and delivery speed.
Please note research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, women and marginalized folks tend to only apply when they check every box. If you think you have what it takes, even if you don’t meet every single point on the job description, please still get in touch. We’d love to have a chat and see if you could be a great fit.

YOUR TASKS AMONGST OTHERS:

  • Take ownership of the iOS application’s technical roadmap, conducting initial research on potential solutions and keeping the direction consistent with planned objectives.
  • Lead our small, agile iOS team, helping them effectively deliver on priorities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop proofs-of-concept, prototype features, and tackle technical challenges.
  • Work closely with other development teams, sales, and product managers to integrate feedback into product decisions and roadmap discussions.
  • Evaluate relevant technologies and weigh their benefits against project goals and timelines.
  • Maintain an appropriate balance between code quality, flexibility, and ongoing development needs.
  • Encourage best practices in architecture, performance, and API usage for our Swift and SwiftUI-based iOS application.
  • Help the team implement new features, extend existing functionalities, and ensure seamless integration with our broader system landscape.
  • Oversee the application lifecycle - development, deployment, operation, and monitoring - to maintain reliability and ensure comprehensive testing where it provides the most benefit.
