JOB SUMMARY

The Technician Level Two/ Trainer is responsible for performing complex enterprise installs that include software, hardware, and network configurations. This position collaborates with vendors to resolve configuration issues. Facilitates training and coaching of Technicians on specific developmental skill and strategy sets. This role is involved in designing, developing, and advising for a broad range of technologies and policies across all Configuration Center locations.

What you will do:

  • Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems and software, using standard business applications as well as CDW’s proprietary software packages.
  • Install, assemble, and configure computers, network infrastructure components such as rack enclosures and related hardware; pull, rewire, and label cables inside rack enclosures.
  • Troubleshoot problems with computer systems, including hardware, software, network and peripheral equipment.
  • Configure and test every system to ensure 100% quality.
  • Update comments on picks to be cancelled and forwards to a Help Desk, Supervisor or Manager.
  • Communicate with Account Managers and customers regarding their specific network configurations.
  • Communicate issues concerning customer orders to the area Help Desk or Supervisor.
  • Complete projects and tasks assigned by management to include assisting team with non-enterprise-level builds as required.
  • It may be necessary on occasion for this individual to work beyond their regularly scheduled shift. Overtime is to be expected and, in some cases, required.
  • Facilitate sessions to appropriate workforce audiences which may include, but is not limited to:

o Technology Training to Configuration Center coworkers
o Training and coaching of coworkers on skill and strategy sets
o Maintain “Orientation” and “On Boarding” process and training materials for Configuration Center coworkers
o Manage and conduct trainings on Quality and High-Performance Technique processes
o Administer Configuration Center “Self-Study Training” program
o Collaborate with the Team on identifying needed trainings related to new technology trends and latest products
o Create and deliver ongoing emerging technology trainings
o Design, develop and deliver instructional materials, performance improvement solutions, change management strategies, and/or technical or sales learning solutions that meet business and stakeholder expectations
o Provide ongoing program and feedback and communication updates to stakeholders
o Develop, manage, and execute project management strategies to ensure effective resource allocation, commitment from project team members, timeliness, and attainment of business requirements
o Utilizes established curriculum and develops new performance enhancing materials
