Job Details Job Location: Grapevine (4051),TX - Grapevine, TX Position Type: Full Time Education Level: None Salary Range: Undisclosed Travel Percentage: None Job Shift: Day Job Category: Installation - Maint - Repair Description Summary The OBA Technician is responsible for the inspection, testing, and verification of various Dell devices and processes within the Dell whole-unit-repair depot. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other Duties not listed may be assigned. Daily Responsibilities Inspect devices (primarily laptop/Chromebook) repaired by production team Assess the technicians repair actions to ensure the appropriate actions took place Attempt to reproduce the customers reported failure to ensure issue(s) are resolved Test for any additional functional/visual/internal related failures Follow system driven OBA sampling plan Provide detailed failure information for any devices that do not meet expectations in shop floor system for data analysis purposes for creation of corrective actions Highlight opportunities for improvement within the OBA process to quality management Follow defined procedures without colleague driven deviations (essentially, ability to avoid direction/influence on processes/procedures from departments outside of quality management). Qualifications Educations and/or Experience High school graduate or equivalent Basic Knowledge of Windows Based operating systems is required. Needs previous or current repair technician experience. A+ certified preferred or equivalent repair experience with laptops and/or Chromebooks. Must have demonstrated technical competency. Essential Skills: Pays close attention to detail to identify order discrepancies and resolve issues with variances. Needs ability to focus on detail and work under pressure. Ability to take initiative and work independently. Must be hands-on with ambition and drive to succeed - Makes things happen. Must be goal oriented and accustomed to achieving results through teamwork. Must have good time management skills. Must be a fast learner and have good retention and memory Competencies: Shows determination to achieve excellent results Strong attention to detail Strong punctuality and reliability/attendance Ability to communicate effectively Willingness to work overtime weekdays as needed; Saturday overtime may be required at times Working Conditions Must be able to tolerate moderate to high noise levels in a repair depot environment. Individuals may need to stand for an extensive period of time while working; to reach over shoulder heights; bend or stoop below the waist; repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
