About the Team   You will be part of the Williams-Sonoma Inc Project Management Organization (PMO). The PMO is responsible for designing, building, and delivering key software components of our customer delivery platforms.  We are growing the dynamic team and investing in many exciting initiatives that are changing retail and the customer’s shopping experience.  We are focused on integrating the purchase and pick-up flow across online and stores, cross-brand shopping and gifting, building augmented reality home design tools and delivering personalized loyalty programs throughout the world. Our goal is to support the organizational vision, bringing our home to yours with the highest quality and service.   About the Role   As a Tech Program Manager in the Ecommerce PMO, you will be responsible for managing one or more sub-portfolios with the overall Ecommerce portfolio.  Your role with the sub-portfolio is to: (i) build the project flight-plan for the year, working with Product and Delivery leaders; (ii) obtain weekly project status for active projects from other project managers working on those projects and to escalate any issues requiring immediate leadership attention; (iii) track and manage spending by projects against the allotted sub-portfolio budget. You will be responsible for driving large, complex, enterprise class programs within your home sub-portfolio.  Leading programs in this category requires building strong working relationships with senior leaders outside technology.  Program health could materially affect WSI results.    Program success is defined as ensuring that the company investment in time and dollars delivers successful outcomes as defined by our Leadership, Product Management and Architecture teams.  You will be working directly with our team members and senior leadership driving projects with resources who are co-located and are responsible for engineering and testing within their feature area.  Working with project management and scrum masters, you will help guide, lead, and serve your teams so that together you deliver awesome solutions for our customers.   As the Program Manager you will be guiding several projects ensuring your teams stay in communication throughout the program lifecycle.  You will influence and coach team members to deliver on time and within budget driving optimal return on our investment. You are responsible for communicating to senior leadership the value of work in progress and the needed elements for risk mitigation and overall customer success.      Responsibilities: * Drive program roadmaps, working with the business and technology leadership. * Bridge the gap between technology delivery decisions and business impact analysis. * Understand and manage to the link between daily program activities and the overall program outcomes. * Use your strong financial modeling and management skills to transparently demonstrate the successful program outcomes. * Outline the risk profile with appropriate mitigation plans and stakeholder responsibilities. * Own program communications at all levels across Technology and Business stakeholders. * Serve in leadership role for Product and/or Engineering on an extended basis as needed for Program success. * Identify and ensure resolution of impediments to the team’s progress escalating to senior leadership if needed. * Manage the teams' velocity and timing while identifying ways to improve velocity, estimation, and quality. * Protect the integrity of the teams and its velocity from unnecessary external influences. * Coach the team on continually improving communication, process, estimation, quality, and velocity. * Care for the team - seek to unlock the energy and potential of the team to be the best it can be.   Criteria:   * Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. * 10 years or more experience in business process, software delivery or related field. * Demonstrated effective communication at all levels of the organization.  * Experience managing the delivery of programs that have had a measurable business impact. * Solid understanding of what it takes to develop and deliver great software, fast. * Entrepreneurial approach and ability to find solutions to challenges your teams face. * Ability to communicate concisely with the ability to translate business strategy to delivery. * You work like a coach in your passion to get your teams to perform at their best. * You can get the job done using JIRA, Confluence and Slack. * Skilled at coaching teams to be effective delivering business and technology objectives. * Demonstrated leadership in influencing others to choose the right path. * You have appropriate certification or related experience: * Scrum certification: ideally CSP, at least CSM, and preferably SAFe as well. * PMP certified or some other certification in project management. * This role requires being onsite in the office Monday through Thursday.   Our Culture & Values  We believe that taking care of our people is vital to our success and we strive to offer equitable and transparent practices for all. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
