POSITION SUMMARY: A Sleep Technician performs comprehensive sleep testing and analysis, and associated interventions under the general supervision of a sleep technologist and/or the medical director or designee. A sleep technician can provide supervision of a sleep trainee. Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards to all customer groups.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Previous medical training and /or experience.
  • A Registered Respiratory Therapist license, Nursing license, Paramedic or EMT license preferred.
  • Previous experience in field for a minimum of 2-3 years or can be trained in the job.
  • Complete all A Step modules along with 1638 clinical hours within 24 months.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to read, write and converse in English
  • Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors and others
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under stress
  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions
  • Bending, lifting (25 lbs minimum), grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, squatting, prolonged standing and/or sitting, squatting
  • Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard/metric measurements)
  • Ability to repeatedly twist, squat, and stoop
  • Exposure to infectious organisms, agents and toxic chemicals
Responsibilities

Demonstrates the ability to develop and implement an age appropriate plan of care using assessment and clinical skills, with the ability of evaluating the plan of care and making adjustments as the clinical setting changes.
