Position Purpose & Summary
As Technical Account Manager chocolate, you support our Cocoa and Chocolate (CCC) business unit to grow and defend our business. Responsible for the technical support to customers, you will pro-actively develop and promote our chocolate product range in various applications areas. You will translate customer and market needs to technical solutions and product opportunities.
You will be a vital technical link between the customer and our operations and commercial teams. Your objective is to develop your knowledge and expertise for chocolate applications and turn that into value for internal and external parties. This means developing recipes according to customer taste and needs and anticipating market trends. You provide advice and technical support as well as you would be giving technical trainings. In all cases it requires to take initiative, strike a cost/benefit balance and come with a strong and innovative customer solution.
Principal Accountabilities
25% Advise and support customers in applications projects for Chocolate products.
Coordinate with the customer to find their needs.
Based on Cargill’s Chocolate standard portfolio suggest the best solution.
For key customers suggest a custom product solution. In such cases follow standard approval process.
Have a clear view of market developments, tailor approach and coordinate with senior staff. Communicate new ideas for market development.
35% Responsible for technical sales support
Support and advise internal and external contacts on the usage of specific products.
Building an intimate relation between R&D and the customer, thus ensuring Cargill is the go-to advisor.
15% Support customers in product development
Coordinate with marketing and customer to find the best solution for a new product that the customer wants to develop.
10% Initiate and start up new product development processes on customer requirements
10 % Organize seminars, training and presentations for customers on product development and application
Internal – basic training as to what support can provided, coaching specific projects
External – presenting products one-to-one with the customer.
5% Responsible for converting customers’ requirements into projects for PPD
defining product specification; providing clear direction for the development of the new product.
Qualifications
HBO/ University (Bachelor’s degree food technology)
5+ years working experience in food industry
Experience in chocolate or food industry is preferred
Ideally experienced in the development and production of consumer products
Proven skills in providing technical service to customers (internal or external)
Familiar in the use of equipment in the lab as well as on-line production facility for food applications.
Basic project management skills
Proven skills in a customer oriented technical service
Strong listening, communication skills and practical hands-on approach in problem solving.
Flexible, positive and open-minded
Good interpersonal skills and team worker, with the ability to well function independently when necessary
Ability to communicate and cooperate with cross-functional teams within the organization
Excellent knowledge of English
Understanding of German would be a plus
