The role We currently have opportunities for qualified technicians to join our team as Technical Advisors based in the Freeport Indonesia - Grasberg Block Cave mines located in the Papua Province, Indonesia. The opportunity is well suited for those with strong customer-centric and technical support experience for Sandvik underground drill and bolt equipment. You will be a key member of an established team and drive the reliability and availability of the underground mining fleet while supporting a zero-harm safety culture. The opportunity will see you: Providing technical support on a fleet of Sandvik underground drills and bolter products including Axera 6-8, DD431, Solo’s, Commando, Cable bolters, Secondary Breaking Drills, and other UG utility equipment such as Rock Breakers and Getman Mixers. Organizing and providing feedback on any reliability related issues or concerns regarding the fleet. Aiding Service Personnel as required on technical issues and spare parts concerns. Support the principles to mentor and upskill the local workforce in best-practice service and maintenance standards with a focus on safe work practices. Collaborate with General Manager and Technical Support Manager for EHS initiatives, training needs, and specific customer requirements. Actively driving the adaption of new technology by Service Personnel including improving process and procedures through digitalization. Your profile To be successful in this position you must be trade qualified or have similar qualifications disciplined in mechanical, electrical and hydraulics systems. You will have extensive experience in a similar role in the underground mining industry with a minimum of seven years’ experience maintaining Sandvik underground drill and bolting equipment. Importantly, you will have a strong understanding of underground drilling and bolting principles and practices combined with deep working knowledge of the Sandvik product range. In addition to your expert technical knowledge, you will have good communication and customer service skills and the ability to build long term relationships.
