    You will provide a superior level of support to our claims advisors and customers whilst maintaining focus on achieving positive claims and business outcomes for all stakeholders. You will be responsible for the proactive capability uplift of our claims team as a mentor and technical Workers Compensation expert in accordance with legislative, regulatory & procedural guidelines.
    This is an exciting opportunity for you to use your comprehensive workers compensation and injury management skills and knowledge in a proactive performance-based culture at GIO, the largest Workers Compensation Insurer in WA.
    The purpose of this role is to provide technical assistance to claims teams by contributing to and driving proactive claims management. The Technical Adviser is responsible for ensuring cost effective intervention is provided in a timely manner and influencing effective claims strategy within the claims team. This role is also accountable for coaching and mentoring claims teams to ensure sound decision making and to assist the development of product, legislative and regulatory knowledge and skills. The role requires a constant customer focus by working with customers, team members and third parties to find solutions consistent with their needs and the business objectives as well as resolve complaints in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate across and within teams and build strong relationships with customers to match the right solution to each customer’s needs – placing the customer at the heart of decisions
  • Provide strong and consistent customer service and engagement
  • Act as the subject matter expert for relevant claims teams in area of specialisation. Primary point of contact for all technical queries relating to policy, legislation, product knowledge, systems, processes or procedures
  • Provide specialist technical and/or professional advice for the authorisation and approval of claims management, applying analysis and experience to arrive at the correct course of action
  • Effectively coach and mentor individual team members to effectively manage claims decisions based on analysis, experience and judgement.
