Description

Due to expansion, we are hiring a Technical and Design Co-Ordinator to join us on a full-time permanent basis at our Fivemiletown facility. The purpose of the role is to manage the development and approval of samples for tendering for the defence market, with the aim of achieving the winning or highest technical score in all tenders.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule and monitor the development and approval of samples and tendering with close liaison with key stakeholders in the technical process.
  • Support the tender process by reading and understanding tender documentation, attending meetings, gathering samples and advising offshore and in-house manufacturing teams on the product.
  • Provide garment specifications and CAD drawings for all products and maintain and update design documentation.
  • Assess and evaluate design trends in the market and with competitors.
  • Gather technical data for tender opportunities and organize the testing of fabrics and products.
  • Ensure samples are made to the correct specifications and sealed samples are checked against garment specifications.
  • Provide technical documentation and samples for tender submission.
  • Arrange the sending and delivery of sealed sample garments to all relevant parties.
  • Assist in technical write-up pieces as part of a pre-qualification questionnaire or Invitation to Tender bid, and assist the Sales team with special tasking and inquiries from existing and potential customers.
  • Respond to and resolve issues as they arise with help from the appropriate stakeholder.
  • Source the fabric, trims and packaging required for all sampling requirements and ensure their arrival ahead of sample production.
  • Provide visual aids including product flyers for use by the customer and sales team and for use in garment specifications.
  • Provide complete cost details and bill of materials for all products designed or when required.
  • Ensure (as far as is possible) that products are within customer’s quality expectations, safety regulations and company standards.
  • Co-ordinate the production of garment specifications to match product design.
  • Meet with appropriate fabric and trim suppliers and attend exhibitions when appropriate.
  • Understand customer strategy by regular customer visits and by seeking customer feedback and reporting back any issues to the team.
  • Identify areas of potential development in product or customer base.
