As a Technical Animation Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to enhance your skills and ignite your enthusiasm for Technical Animation in the realm of game development.
Under expert guidance, you’ll start to apply what you’ve learned to our exciting projects. We’re looking for an impressive and vibrant portfolio, whether from your academic endeavours or personal projects, that highlights your creativity through dynamic rigs.

REQUIREMENTS

  • You are completing a university placement year, are a career switcher or an aspiring Technical Animator with minimal Game Development industry experience.
  • You have a Tech Anim portfolio containing personal or educational projects.
  • You’re a self-learner with a passion and excitement for game development and Tech Anim.
  • Basic knowledge of 3d software such Maya, Motion builder, and optionally Blender, with a technical focus on rigging and skinning.
  • Interest in anatomy and body mechanics.
  • Interest in creating body, facial, and prop rigs.
  • Fundamental understanding of writing scripts with MEL and/or Python.
  • Basic understanding of the terms debugging, optimization, and pipeline.
  • Familiarity with of 3D math (linear algebra, vector, and matrix math)
Responsibilities
  • Track and update the progress of day-to-day tasks using the designated tracking tools.
  • With significant guidance, Bug-fix issues raised by testers. or other departments.
  • With significant guidance, create character rigs and facial animation techniques.
  • Begin to learn how to create tools to help animators.
  • Explore and learn our Game Engine
  • Develop an understanding of best practices, production pipelines, and workflows.
  • Use source control tools to keep assets updated and organised.
