Frankfurt (Onsite) Art / Animation Hunt: Showdown 1896
Crytek is looking for a passionate and experienced Technical Animator to join the Hunt: Showdown team in our new state-of-the-art office in Frankfurt, Germany. We are looking for a creatively minded and driven team member who can communicate well with programmers\animators\Character Artist to develop cutting edge technology for games.

*CANDIDATE MUST BE PROFICIENT IN A DIVERSE SET OF SOFTWARE INCLUDING 3DS MAX / MAYA (OR EQUIVALENT) ETC. EXPERIENCE WITH PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES AS PYTHON IS A NECESSITY. *

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with art and animation departments to create and maintain ‘Animator Friendly’ rigs
  • Develop character and weaponrigs in Maya, using our intern Rigging Solutions, working in conjunction with the project leaders and the art/programming team.
  • Set up physics and realtime cloth using cryengine.
  • Solve technical production issues, especially those related to real-time characters and character performances.
  • Proactively seek out inefficiencies and problems in existing processes as well as potential problems.
  • Define workflows and pipelines, simplifying where possible.
  • Create and optimize content for memory and performance gains.
  • Demonstrate, communicate and exemplify clear expectations for quality of work, productivity, communication and professionalism to the team.
  • Develop rigging, animation or modelling tools and scripts with Python
  • Work with other disciplines to ensure the quality of the characters and animation for all aspects of the project.
  • Provide technical insight to the Art and Animation departments, breaking down complex issues into discrete action items.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of professional production experience with real-time CG characters/Technical Animation.
  • Experience in the games industry including AAA console titles.
  • Good understanding of anatomy, volume and deformation.
  • Solid scripting experience in Python.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Expert knowledge of Maya for animation and rigging.
  • Expert knowledge of Animation principles Kinematics and rigging math.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good English communication and writing skills.
