THE OPPORTUNITY

Our Diagnostics business is looking for an Application Specialist to support Gulf Market and will be based in Dubai, UAE. The individual will be responsible for pre- and after-sales, providing expert application knowledge, delivering customer training, run verification and validation studies, and supporting the ADD sales forces to expand the ADD core business share and improve account profitability and accelerate revenue generation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in one of the following fields, Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology.
  • Minimum of 8 years track record in the diagnostic industry with an emphasis on Biochemistry – Immunology; commercial experience is an advantage.
  • The position requires the willingness to travel on a frequent basis.
  • Proven track record in a similar position supported by management and customer references.
  • Good relationship building skills.
  • Good communication and net-working skills.
  • Ability to identify and drive resolution of issues
Responsibilities
  • Responsibility for sales quota with a volume defined by country/region, including target performance achievement within the region.
  • Work closely with ADD regional / local sales teams, product management to maintain and expand the ADD Core business share.
  • Analyse, develop and drive value expansion goals and account specific plans.
  • Build sustainable customer relationships and leverage them to expand profitable sales.
  • Demonstrate instruments to customers and deliver customer training.
  • Coordinate sales team for the validation of the Instrument at customer site and submit the validation report to the customer.
  • Solve Assay related problems and coordinate with service team to fix the issue.
  • Conduct post implementation business reviews.
  • Improve over all know how of application team
  • Develop distributor Application / Engineers to Abbott standard for Application relates subjects
  • Gather competitor information
  • Conduct educational training to team members
  • Be instrumental in performing evaluation and scientific studies.
  • Actively collect best practices and train others enabling improved customer satisfaction and faster adoption
  • Success in this role is measured by customer satisfaction score (NPS), economic profitability, sales quota achievement (value expansion of existing customers).
