OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Technical Architect to join a growing team. This is an opportunity to design and guide secure, scalable, and maintainable enterprise solutions for a major organization in the province. The ideal candidate is a mentor who will provide strategic guidance on application design, data integration, business intelligence (BI), and cloud adoption. The organization has recently implemented a new, fully integrated pension and benefits solution. This role will report to the Manager, Systems Development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: 5+ years in a technical architecture or senior development role with experience designing enterprise-scale solutions. Experience in healthcare, pension, or financial services is considered an asset.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in .NET technologies, C#, and SQL Server is required 23 . Knowledge of BI and reporting tools (Power BI, Microsoft Fabric) and data modeling best practices is also needed. Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred) is an asset.
  • Competencies: Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Must be able to manage multiple priorities and drive architectural decisions in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge: A strong understanding of integration patterns, cloud services, and BI/data architecture is essential. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks like PHIA and PIPEDA is preferred. Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) is an asset.
Responsibilities
  • Architectural Leadership: Design end-to-end technical solutions that align with business objectives and architectural standards. Develop and maintain architecture roadmaps and standards to guide technology decisions. Provide architectural leadership for system integrations, cloud adoption, application modernization, and BI/data strategies.
  • Data & BI Strategy: Oversee the design of data architecture strategies, ensuring data integrity, scalability, and efficient integration across multiple systems. Provide architectural oversight for BI platforms like Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Security & Compliance: Embed security and privacy requirements into architectural designs, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations like PHIA and PIPEDA. Evaluate third-party tools for security, performance, and scalability.
  • Collaboration & Mentorship: Partner with developers, business analysts, and infrastructure teams to ensure solutions are implemented according to architectural standards. Mentor development teams, promoting best practices and quality standards.
