As a Technical Architect, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping a Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) that reimagines how national and state systems build and innovate digital tools to ensure safe, sustainable water access for all. Based in Bengaluru, this role involves working closely with national and state technology teams, collaborating with experts who have architected leading DPIs across India. You’ll design and implement cutting-edge services and APIs, develop robust data registries, and establish standards that drive interoperability, scalability, and innovation. This is a unique opportunity to influence technology at scale while contributing to a mission that matters deeply to millions. Key ResponsibilitiesArchitectural Leadership Lead end-to-end architecture and design across all major government and partner engagements. Develop comprehensive technical blueprints and architectural roadmaps aligned with program objectives. Solution Design Design scalable, secure, and performant systems, services, APIs, and data registries. Define and implement standards for privacy, security, and interoperability. Engineering Management Oversee delivery, deployment, and maintenance of technology solutions. Provide technical mentorship, conduct code reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices. Vendor Management Collaborate with and manage vendors to ensure quality, scalability, and timely delivery. Define technical requirements, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with architectural standards. Stakeholder Collaboration Partner with government officials, project managers, and ecosystem stakeholders to translate functional needs into technical solutions. Ensure alignment between technical architecture and strategic objectives. Innovation & Evangelism Research, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies to enhance system capabilities. Advocate for open, interoperable digital infrastructure and drive adoption across the ecosystem. Represent the organization in industry discussions, DPI networks, and public forums. Technical Skills API Design & Management: Expertise in RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and documentation tools such as Swagger/OpenAPI. Microservices Architecture: Strong understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), service discovery, and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack). Open Source Frameworks: Experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Express.js, or Django. Cloud Technologies: Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including cloud-native services like AWS Lambda. Programming Languages: Proficiency in one or more languages — Java, Python, Node.js, or Go. Database Management: Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra) and data optimization techniques. DevOps: Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI) and infrastructure automation. Mobile Technologies: Understanding of Android, iOS, and cross-platform frameworks (React Native, Flutter). Data Streaming: Proficiency with real-time data processing and streaming platforms (Kafka, Spark Streaming). AI/ML Integration: Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, LLMs, RAG databases, and best practices for ethical AI deployment. Performance & Scalability: Strong ability to design systems optimized for performance, caching, and load distribution. Security: Deep knowledge of authentication, authorization (OAuth, JWT), and data protection principles. Agile Methodologies: Experience with Agile practices like Scrum or Kanban for iterative software development. Managerial & Interpersonal Skills Strong collaboration and stakeholder management across technical and non-technical teams. Effective communicator with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly. Skilled in negotiation, partnership management, and cross-functional coordination. Qualifications Minimum 10 years of experience, including at least 3 years in an Architect role. Proven experience in architecting and delivering large-scale systems. Demonstrated leadership, innovation, and communication excellence.
